You're confusing patents and copyright. They are different things. Patented hardware can be freely discussed. The whole *point* of patents is that you agree to *disclose* an invention in exchange for limited protection (20 years). You can talk about patents and patented hardware all you want, you just can't go manufacture your own without a license.
