i was a long ways from marriage back then and never dated anyone longer than weeks. even back then, i well understood the worst mistake would be to pick your lifelong mate in college. neither know yet what their career, priorities, or established locale will be….it would only create skew to try and conform your life’s path to someone you chose to lock in with simply because we were both young, hot and chose the same college. i met my wife many years later and had 3 children without even financially blinking an eye. a couple more notches in the belt during my degenerate college years likely wouldn’t have had an impact. also, even while it was fun to return and eye the local talent, it’s never been a desire to risk our marriage in Christ.
