frequently I feel like western medicine is such a farce. The way we have things setup here in AB is literal insanity. I just run into roadblocks and I’m constantly fighting for my right to basic medical care. In BC?? I saw two neurologists, and was fully worked up for MS with lesser symptoms. In ON, I had an appt with neuro within 6 months. This has been a decades long issue for me.
AB experience:
> 2 year referral wait list.
> + 2 months to get EMG / nerve study (was shocked, short wait)
> + 5 month wait for shoulder ultrasound (denied when I showed up at three different facilities who all said the request was ‘too complex’ and they don’t ultrasound the brachial plexus.)
> still on the + 14 month wait to get my cervical and brachial MRI (March).
> Same neuro doctor then declines to review symptoms that are retuning in my lower spine. (From MS workup timeline)
Meanwhile, I guess I’ll just cope?
How do they live with themselves?
