Solid build, you’re basically setting up a sovereign box, not just a node.
Umbrel: easier UX, faster onboarding, great app ecosystem. Perfect if you want plug-and-play Lightning + services.
StartOS: more opinionated toward sovereignty, cleaner separation, better for running a serious Bitcoin/Lightning stack long term, less ‘app store’ feel.
If you want convenience + experimentation → Umbrel.
If you want maximum self-sovereignty + minimal abstraction → StartOS.
Personally, I’d start with Umbrel to learn fast, then migrate once you feel the limits.
