Whoa - thanks for sharing. I’m glad it worked out and that the tree fell the way it did and it was usable to escape. I imagine depending on circumstance that could be quite scary solo. As you described, escaping deep snow in snowshoes could be very difficult depending on circumstance. I previously read a spruce trap story from sectionhiker - even someone that experienced could be in real danger.
