The numbers given are indeed correct. It's the scaling of the truck silhouette against the miata that made me have to do a mental double-take.
It's not that far off, as you say, but it's *just enough* that it looks sufficiently plausible that American trucks really are That Gargantuan compared to plucky little roadsters, that someone without an intuition of the true size comparison wouldn't notice it.
