I'm so glad that my ancestors didn't give up on democracy despite it taking a hundred years from the Emancipation Proclamation to get the Civil Rights Act passed into law.
The arc angle is much less acute than I wish it were and sadly it seems to have a sinusoidal nature to it too, but all I can do is endeavor to persevere.
