One other observation that might be useful: The read •status• seems to sync properly. I.e. the “bad Mac" know which posts I've read.

If I scroll up manually I reach the end of the actuel “unread queue”, i.e. when the post count bubble in the top right appears.

The only thing the “bad Mac" isn't doing is scrolling to that position automatically when the read status changes elsewhere.
