What's so funny is that when she's at the vet, she actually behaves. She got her first sub-q treatment like nothing was happening to her. My roommate helps, he does the bag and the sticking and I keep her wrapped in the towel in her bed while I hold her down and try to snuggle her into submission (which kind of works, but not for long). I also use the scruff-grabbing technique like the vet taught us.

I am super worried about this being too much for her emotionally, her quality of life has always been my top priority. We've been doing it every other day and so far she seems in a better mood afterwards and isn't hiding from us. The vet explained that if she doesn't get the treatment she's going to feel like shit anyway so it seems like a choice - risk making her miserable emotionally or definitely let her feel like garbage physically.

As long as she keeps acting normal afterwards, we're just going to keep jabbing her whether she likes it or not. I'm hoping if we just keep doing it she'll get used to it, and it seems like at least giving her the treats/pets/porch time AFTER the jab helps since she isn't interested in them during.
