NWC (npub19hg…yv9p) is a start. It decouples the wallet part from apps. Users can bring their own wallet, set fine grained permissions and budgets.
App developers on the other side don't need to build a wallet from scratch but can rely on an open protocol that allows to interchangeably use any wallet.
