I know somebody who was trafficked as a child. Two men kept the children chained up in a basement. He calls them The Monster, and The Monster's Keeper.
When the Monster came downstairs to use the children, he would beat them.
The Monster's Keeper, on the other hand, brought candy and hugs.
Both kidnappers and rapists. Which one is "worse"? The one who uses straightforward violence, or the one who plays headgames and builds trust with sweet promises? Is that your idea of "kindness"? Which victims have a harder time recovering, do you think? The ones who were pummeled or the ones who were groomed into thinking rape was love? Hmm? It's a vile, meaningless fucking question. Especially when they play a Good Cop / Bad Cop tag team. The "good" one feeds the monsters they're paid to fight, and then tosses us back to them so we'll get softened up, desperate to take their "deal".
That's a game from a Saw movie, not a system of government-- and certainly not democracy!! Fuck the entire establishment and the genocidal colonialism it rode in on.
