We can’t possibly know what the carrying capacity is until we’ve stopped destroying ecosystems. We burn things up so fast that we don’t know if what’s left can maintain itself (including us).
Most of the carrying capacity analyses I’ve seen divide what we currently use by a the demands of a globally modest life. But *we can’t afford what we currently use*.
