Being environmentally responsible doesn't have to mean spending $60 on an EV. That is something most just simply can't afford. There is another completely valid way to approach environmentalism: reuse/rebuild/refurbish.
Instead of throwing away parts and buying new ones, fabricate a new replacement part from scrap metal. Pick a part from a junk yard/ebay. Refurbish a part with a simple gasket kit and elbow grease.
