I'm not going to watch the video to see which procedure he got, but it seems like it was plasmid-mediated. The effect is supposed to last for a few weeks at most, and it looses effectiveness with each subsequent procedure. AAV gene therapy lasts for a few months and up to a year, but you would typically get permanent acquired immunity to the serotype used in the shot, and even with a different one each next procedure will have a less powerful effect than the previous one. It's a slight life extension at best.
