1. Yes, you understand it well!

2. The closest thing to a directory right now is at soapbox.pub/servers. However, we haven't created the random community servers that have popped up yet as Ditto is still very new! Well add to it as communities grow.

3. If someone has a pub key display name they could be anywhere on Nostr. It means either 1) they never set a display name (unlikely) or 2) Our database is having trouble fetching their name. This is related to how events get pushed to relays, and is kind of difficult to fix although we're trying. You can not set someone else's display name for them.

Thanks for trying out Ditto! We have a lot more progress to make and and I think emin the next couple months some of these bugs will be more sorted. :)
