Yup, we had jobs for everyone.
For the period 1960-1977, NZ's unemployment rate was often below 0.5% and never above 1%.
NZ had state employers like Ministry of Works, Railways, NZ Forestry etc to allow even the most unskilled workers an opportunity to work and earn a living.
There was certainly poor people but I never saw the kind of poverty we witness everywhere we look on a daily basis with a government that punches down on the very victims of neoliberalism.
Party vote #Green and restore the *Ministry of Works and renationalise our power companies.
*Ministry of Green Works is a Green Party policy.
