well... it's definitely not "empowering". But it IS horror. And I think it makes good use of horror film principles to amplify the experiences of women, especially female celebrities, who either consent to commodifying their beauty and youth, or who find themselves discarded once they age or otherwise become unappealing to society's gaze.
And I studied film at a women's university, so I find it kinda funny thinking, "OMG, this is my lane, finally!" 😂
