There’s still that contrary and pesky impediment of membership of the ECHR being written into the Good Friday Agreement - an internationally recognised agreement. It’s also written into Scottish Devolution, but Westminster still retains power over that. They keep avoiding this issue as they repeatedly bring up the prospect of leaving the ECHR.
