I did have some short A-A cables that were used (out of spec) for High speed USB3 caddies... You 'might' be able to use such an illegal (they are dangerous IIRC because quite possible to have voltage on wrong pins, because no direction sense in A ports) , to achieve 10Gb between two ports ... Would be interesting experiment I guess provided you don't blow up the devices in the process of testing :)
