This brother once called me & asked what I was doing, so I said I was reading a book titled "Not a Nation of Immigrants: Settler Colonialism, White Supremacy, and a History of Erasure and Exclusion" (by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz) & he went immediately to a defensive attitude & said something about how he wasn't alive when certain stuff was happening & doesn't really have any control over things.

I told him that if someone wants to understand systems of oppression, they have to study up.
