I've often flabbergasted other folks by telling them that I don't want to work. It's not a point of pride to give my effort and energy to someone else in exchange for being able to live.

I'm not earning my keep. I'm getting the most someone else is willing to give for my knowledge, energy, experience, and effort. It's almost certainly not a fair trade.

If I was able to live comfortably without doing this 'work' I would. You can't make me feel shame for that.
