This is why I don’t ever try to convince someone or debate them on their religion now.
It took me a long time, but I can see it here too - some people need it.

The truth is that it is far better for most people to hold the belief that there is a higher authority that gives them their morality to follow ( as long as it is peaceful and tolerant. )
Religion in the right context can give clarity where there is none, it can give meaning and purpose, and as long as that has boundaries when it comes to others that don’t buy in, then it is a net positive IMO.
