this book appropriates the horrors often lived by slaves or women of non-white ethnicities, as everything in it has happened, and makes it horrific to the general public by applying it to white women. There are no mention of any non-white character in it. It is white feminism at its finest. I agree it's a great book, very captivating to read. But it does reflect how a lot of people (of which I definitely was part at one point) only get truly horrified when things happen to white women.
