With a lack of details, I guess we can break the OP problem statement down as follows.

1) Identify the thing that imposes the requirement for the dependency.
- If the thing can be substituted or change to no longer require the dependency, than it can be cured.

2) If the dependency remains a requirement, then look for a better source to fulfill that requirement.
