Last year they (again likely Willis) told people to stop calling YMCA a gay anthem, and to "get your minds out of the gutter"

Willis probably isn't gay, the band was formed around him, he co-wrote hits, then he left. Then sued the rest of the band and got it so only he could use the name "Village People".

Now he's playing for Trump.
