There are just far too many talented production designers & whatnot out there for me to be okay with a big director like Nolan, working with a big budget & lots of creative control, not troubling himself with this stuff.
I don't go see a film to see one person's vision. No film is purely one person's vision unless they are the entire cast & production crew.
Filmmakers should hire artists & challenge them to do something great.
