The situation in Nigeria makes me sad.
The US has asked all non-essential embassy staff to leave the country, and has updated its travel advisory recommending that citizens must not go to 23 (of 36) states.
This includes the state where I grew up, Plateau State. It's a beautiful state that was, back then, a centre of tourism.
Amusingly, despite a number of recent riots and massacres, it hasn't updated the state motto: Home of Peace and Tourism.
