KDE at least works with any init you throw at it, as far as I know, GNOME doesn't, which is why Artix is one of the many-to-come distributions giving up and removing GNOME from its package repositories.
GNOME is going its path to become an obvious red flag telling you the machine is running on top of soystemd.
