I'd be really interested to know more details. How many influencers? What's their subject matter? Etc.
Their reasons seem 100% rational given *what influencers do.* They're (as I think of them) in the business of understanding the day to day machinations of the platforms' algorithms to a large extent. Which is a valid occupation. That skillset doesn't put food on the table, tho, in the fedi.
