But the challenges from the D.C. and Federal appellate courts, which deal with thornier issues than courts 1-11, suggest they, alone, need the attention of 9 justices.
That would suggest 35 justices, as the upper end of the spectrum.
This was the gist of what I found a couple of years ago. I expect the number should be in the 20s, at least, but I think the courts of the nation should be making the decisions as to how many, and how best to organize it.
