It doesn't matter if podcasters or their listeners don't agree with that. The laws of physics are not enacted by a democracy. We have started this ball rolling, it has enormous momentum, it will continue rolling until other physical forces stop it.
Some (huge) changes are now inevitable. I seriously think large areas of the tropics will pass the 'everyone dies' threshold for at least a week by 2060, and that that will create panic in much larger areas.
