I agree. Perhaps tangentially related: when people are "bullied" into using LaTeX, matplotlib, and the like ("technical" software instead of garbage like MS Word, Origin, etc.), they find the experience far better than whatever they were doing. I believe we need to either find an optimal bullying:let-go ratio or come up with simple, easy-to-follow recipes, so to speak, to serve as a gentle introduction to these "technical" stuff.

(But no one should go thru the bullshit I had to go thru when installing opensuse OTOH.)
