The UK Govt. is in the grip of economic essentialism; Keir Starmer has declared, all ministers have to 'set out the growth credentials of new policies in order to get approval from their cabinet colleagues'.
So, Govt now is focussed *only* on economic metrics & indicators (modelled to show contribution to economic growth).
This essentialism has been what has done for many UK businesses, now myopic management will shape policy.
Economics is key but cannot be the only focus!
