If he didn't think about it at all, that's an improbable coincidence of arm motion. And while there are places for neutrality and exploring world views, Nazi stuff is not one of those. Waiting for explanations or trying to hear this sort of thing out, as if there is a rational or valid reason behind it, only delays mobilizing people to stop it. And, honestly, if a fact-checking organization is choosing neutrality over truth, it's in the wrong business.
