We've gone from 80% vaccinated to just 8% in five years. This is why everyone is sick all of the time. Get your Covid and Flu boosters this fall, stay home when sick, and wear a mask as much as you can.

Alberta has the lowest Covid vaccine rates in Canada, with only 8% of Albertans getting a booster last year. The $100 fee clearly keeps people away. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/alberta-covid-vaccine-fee-flu-shots-9.7344083

I like what you're doing here! A pre-made box or frame to drop in filters is a great way to reduce time needed to put together a full Corsi-Rosenthal. I've tried similar things with a fan+filter combo in windows (to varying levels of success, but it was still easier than building a full box).

Measles, polio, whooping cough — people forget about these diseases because we don’t have them anymore. But when you stop vaccinating, they come back. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/06/world/canada/canada-measles-elimination-measles.html?unlocked_article_code=1.zk8.UwPD.Y9B0qEdix--o&smid=url-share

Now that we have to pre-order routine booster shots--that we will also have to pay for--who is the lawyer taking up the case to challenge this contempt of Canada's public health system?

Outdoor air is fine in western Canada. Unless you live in these 2.5 provinces. 😮‍💨 So wear a mask or eat your air.

It's not normal until everyone agrees. 🤷🏻‍♂️ And now let's enjoy these lovely summer heat domes that didn't exist last decade.

Did you know Edmonton hosts an international cat festival every year, with your favourite celebrity cats from social media? It's coming up this Caturday! 😸 https://edmontoncatfest.com/

It's always "NDP voters helped Conservatives win", but never "Liberal voters helped Conservatives win". My sweet little Liberal lambchops, your party is the one giving Conservatives more power than voters in almost every region of the country want to. Change the electoral system or own that.

Another ND here, and I am not being glib or sarcastic, or trying to be a doomer, when I say that we are beyond a point where waiting for proof beyond a reasonable doubt helps. It no longer matters *why* he did it. There was a window of a few hours after the event where confusion can reign, and benefits of doubt can exist, but days later that's gone. This isn't some nobody caught on tape accidentally. Hoping for things not being the worst option is, unfortunately, behind us now.

If he didn't think about it at all, that's an improbable coincidence of arm motion. And while there are places for neutrality and exploring world views, Nazi stuff is not one of those. Waiting for explanations or trying to hear this sort of thing out, as if there is a rational or valid reason behind it, only delays mobilizing people to stop it. And, honestly, if a fact-checking organization is choosing neutrality over truth, it's in the wrong business.

There appears to be a way to log in with an existing Mastodon account on a few of the main servers/instances (like mastodon.social). I assumed that meant a connected account (like signing up to Threads via Instagram) but I could be wrong.

2025-01-17 14:06:52 UTC

What are folks doing for joining Pixelfed if you're not on the main server at @npub163h…mv0n? Are you just setting up a new/second Fediverse account?

I was so glad to see some ladybugs on our building and balcony this year. We even had some ladybug eggs! In our war with the aphids, I have also considered buying some reinforcements. 🐞🐞🐞

You and me: Pay taxes owing on a bankrupt home or property, usually in the purchase price.
Oil and Gas: Won't have to pay *by law* when they scoop up bankrupt well sites.
That's the #Alberta Advantage!
