Run the Windows 11 ISO through MicroWin or Tiny11 to remove bloat/copilot/etc, write the install media with Rufus to strip out the CPU, TPU, and other dumb unecessary gatekeeping. Then it'll work on a lot of even older hardware, and in some cases better than a "stock" install on faster hardware.
Linux is still much more efficient on the older hardware, but if someone needs Windows, at least it makes the experience less terrible.
