Something that bugs me a little bit about #Firefish is that, of course, Mastodon users especially can get easily overwhelmed by the long posts I sometimes make with it due to the higher rate limits.
So, how about following Tumblr's lead and introducing a "Read more" button? (NOT the CW/summary: it doesn't support markup, i.e. mentions and hashtags.) It would present a link that supporting clients can render to open the post in a full page or letterbox, and other clients can just link to it.
