I'm only getting up to speed now, but I gathered the thrusting tech is a "trim" on the roadster, meant to come out late 2027, as well as the normal thruster less one (7 years late btw), so it's like an upgrade. But even a thrusting race car (rear-only thrust) seems like a bit of a gimmick you could only use on a race track or something, so I can't imagine it's for most people. I guess if you already have the flamethrower and surfboard, you may as well upgrade to the thrust one.
Then there's the "flying" one, which is invite-only distribution lol.
I honestly don't have any sense of how impressive this technology really is, but my sense is it's mostly smoke and mirrors advertising stunt (pun intended)
