ibm/red hat are not mustache-twirling cartoon villains, sure, and i can be convinced they're not scheming (though i've seen enough gloating around the xorg-xserver and wayland situation that i struggle to believe this isn't at least in some part a contempt-fuelled act of vandalism, like what they did to the bobby lee statue in charlottesville) but you can't really convince me money isn't behind this. you will never convince me that proprietary software vendors are not acting on the obvious incentive to subvert the free software movement.
