Metallica doesnt have a personality though... that's why I dont like them. Also, Lars is a total fag and a very boring drummer. When you find out that his contemporaries were all clowning him because everything leading to Justice was so boring... whatever respect you had for the guy goes into the negative.
Megadeth by comparison had a whole gimmick with Vic and the incorporation of mid 80s political cynicism and misanthropy. Whats his names artwork is iconic and over time develops what their 'brand' is... its more cohesive. They had a slump with risk all the way to 2003 or so when they finally remembranced what made them appealing again.
Metallica was constantly shifting identities and their broad appeal made them unattractive, to me at least. Plus Lars being a danish faggot.
