But to be answer your question directly, I don’t know for sure. I haven’t lived long enough or read about every piece of financial history.
I’ve read that Marxism and communism call for a central bank that controls the money supply. I haven’t read anything saying that capitalism calls for a central bank. Paying people to store your money safely (banking) is a natural thing people would want in any market.
