I also think that environment really fucked with puberty. I *knew* other kids could sneak into their parents house with their gf, they'd brag about it. I wouldn't dare let anyone from school see my house because I was sharing bunks with siblings, and being poor meant that everyone hoarded what they owned. Total mess everywhere, I'm one of two kids total who shook those habits.
