that's totally fair! I honestly have very little patience for languages that are quirky or that I find hard-to-read, but I can appreciate the value in being able to count on compatibility years down the line. it's such a shame that Python makes these subtle compatibility-breaks tbh - but I guess if they limited themselves to only 100% compatibility then it would end up like javascript. I wish elegance and backwards-compatibility weren't in conflict so often
