The fear you haven't gained knowledge everyone else has (did the students who referred to Marx assume he had come up in class but gone over their heads?)? The feeling that everyone else is really passionate about the subject and knows a) what critical thinking is, and b) what it involves?
Do some of them have less time to work on essays due to work/caring commitments/other things going on in their personal lives? 3/?
