if the vast majority of Bitcoin users reject my basic ability to do commerce, how can I use or promote Bitcoin? It becomes rational, at that point, to do everything I can to sabotage Bitcoin, because it has been hijacked away from Satoshi’s vision of a currency and foundation of a financial system and turned into a slavish tool against liberty by whoever has captured it.

Regardless, I do not think that large bodies of users have a say (if that were true Luke Dashjr would control a completely retarded version of Bitcoin). Bitcoin is a consensus governed by miners and Core, and so far miners have just chosen to support virtually anything and everything Core does. They have completely abdicated their role in governance. Bitcoin being fungible takes only the agreement of Core.
