I read the whole book. While it isn't up to Mieville's usual level, the story was fascinating. I'm not usually bothered by books that take a while to coalesce into a theme or idea. If you want to be sucked right into a well defined plot, this is definitely not your book.

All that said, the prologue is indeed horrible. I wonder if it is mostly Keanu. It seems like a first draft.
