I'm reminded of the time back in 2008 when I was in Tampere, Finland, working with Johan Andersson at Ericsson on the MySQL Cluster backend for OpenLDAP. We'd spent most of a morning hashing out design approaches on a whiteboard, and actually sat down to coding in the afternoon. Johann and I were seated at my laptop and I typed in a couple pages of code in vim, saved it, and compiled it. At that point he gasped - "what, no compiler errors?"
