After losing two hard drives, I've become diligent (nay, excessive) about backups.
For others who work with big files, here's a cheap backup method I learned about from James Cridland (npub13cg…ck4q) in his Podnews newsletter: Amazon AWS, Glacier Deep Archive.
I'm storing 440 gigs of files for about $0.50 per month.
It's super clunky, and you have to wait 12 hours to access your files, but it's a dirt cheap way to have a third backup of 18 years of podcast files.
