One of the weird gizmos that Andreessen and his cronies afflicted #HTML with was *JavaScript*, a programming language of sorts and a terrible one, and yet just think of how many applications (not even *Internet* applications!) are now suspended on the tatty. dirty, cobweb-festooned thread that is #NodeJS.
It's been the one of the strangest things to watch slowly *congeal* into place as corporate #software orthodoxy: the web browser has become a strange sort of virtual machine, a sandbox for application development so tempting that there are programmers who refuse to leave it because they see it as bringing **unity** to #programming! At last, the one true programming language has emerged, and it's JavaScript.
