i've been wondering for a while, at what point does adding more cores actually improve anything?
what's the point of a 24-core processor if it consumes 1kW per hour all on its own? i thought the challenge was to reduce power consumption, not using as much power for a modern desktop computer as one would need to run one of the first vacuum tube mainframes.
